36 Crazyfists "Collisions And Castaways" Release Imminent And Taster Tracks Available Online

Alaskan hardcore heavyweights 36 Crazyfists are preparing for the release of their 5th album "Collisions and Castaways" via Roadrunner Records (in the UK, though on Ferret Music in the US) on July 26th. This will be the bands first Roadrunner release since leaving the label after the release of 2004's "A Snowcapped Romance".
There is a lot of fuss being made about the new record and early reports from Metalhammer UK indicate that this is their best work yet. Kerrang Magazine recently released their amazing review, stating,Collisions and Castaways tweaks and improves on their sound to a truly brilliant effect,” and, “…an album that ebbs and flows so superbly and, while their sonic palette retains the same colors it always has, 36 Crazyfists are still finding vibrant new ways to use them.” All Music Guide states, “In an age when it seems like more and more bands fall by the wayside after only and album or two, 36 Crazyfists are certainly one of metal's most reliable workhorses, as evidenced throughout Collisions and Castaways.”
Lead vocalist Brock Lindow claims that this album is what the band wanted to "write 10 years ago" and is arguably the band's heaviest album yet despite also being incredibly melodic.
He says, "If this was the end of the band, this record is exactly what I wanted our band to do at one time, Maybe a lot of people will think we're just metalcore, but it's so much more than that. It's a heavy record with some big choruses and everything we've been about for a long time with a cool metal feel to it that I've been wanting."
"It's definitely about life, my life and possibly all our lives," Lindow says. "It's just something I wanted to get off my chest. All these years, I have been saying if you can quit making some of these mistakes, your life is going to change and you're going to better and you have to be proactive about it. I thought I was doing it myself, but I wasn't. I really wanted to talk about what has hampered progress for me in my life. It's about trying to be the best human being you can be and really putting some things to rest and moving forward."

Not really heard 36 Crazyfists before and not sure what to expect from the new album? Then you are in luck because there are two tracks taken from the new album "Reviver" and "Whitewater" available to listen to on their Myspace here

36 Crazyfists are currently on tour in the US with Fear Factory, After the Burial and Divine Heresy, although they are returning to the UK for a co-headline tour with UK label mates DevilDriver playing what will be their biggest headline shows (albeit co-headline) in the UK since their inception.
